In the heart of Mexico City's last remaining canals, a father and son unite against urbanization and the exploitation of their Indigenous heritage, driven by an unshakable purpose: safeguarding the transformative wisdom of this ancient, water-based system of regenerative permaculture. In a city built on water but now gasping for it, their fight to preserve the chinampas is also a fight to protect the wetlands and freshwater that sustain life itself. Fueled by a potent sense of community and the unwavering support of Mexico City's culinary luminaries, they confront the climate crisis head-on — embarking on an impassioned mission to uphold this remarkable Indigenous knowledge and imploring the world to rediscover and embrace their own pre-colonial food systems for the future of our planet.
